Student Life Fair & The Treetop walk

During the last days we settled a bit to find a balance between studies and activities. Well.... it turned out that we do not really like to study here and therefore we decided to postpone as much work as possible and enjoyed the weekend instead. After partying immediately after class on Wednesday.

Ok let's get a bit more detailed. On Thursday the NUS Student Life Fair started in UTown. At this event many student organisation, sports clubs, interest groups and companies presented themselves in order attract new members. It was really cool to take part in some of the offered games like a racing simulator. At that one they even put on the Nordschleife and made us drive the Audi R8 on it. So so great. But very difficult to drive. In the evening the University sponsored free food and drink as well as a live concert on the Town green right in front of our apartments. On Friday the whole event continued, but on Saturday in the evening they offered  an open-air cinema on the Town green instead. For the first time in our life we watched Big Hero 6. Yes, it is a movie for children..... BUT, we all enjoyed it so much!! It is very funny and we had to laugh a lot. We concluded that it is probably not only for children...
Julia and her Boyfriend took us to the famous treetop walk in the centre of Singapore. To get there we decided to hike a bit... the bit turned out to be 16km in total in the end. We saw so many monkeys along the track. They are not afraid of humans and just stayed seated the whole time. There was also a snake eating a lizard (as you can see on the picture). Every other animal, mainly insect we saw, was way bigger than its European counterpart. The plants along our path were also of extraordinary size. Everything seems to be special in Singapore. When we made it back into civilization Julia invited us to try typical local dishes as well as exotic fruits (Mangosteen for example, which is not a Mango). All in all another perfect day in Singapore.... I hope it continues like that.
