Timetables, Holland Village, Formula 1 and Sentosa Island

The last few days were on the one hand very relaxed but on the other hand pretty interesting. On Sunday we managed to get access to the online system where we can make the final choices for our courses that we will attend in the next months. It works basically like a market where you indicate your interest in a course in exchange for one that you are already assigned to. The system then tries to match all students in two rounds per day. So far I managed to get a pretty nice timetable (click here to see it). This means that I do have classes on Tuesday and Wednesday only. Additionally, I won't write an exam in any course at the end of the semester. Therefore I hope to have more than enough time to explore more Islands, countries and cultures.
Monday was quite cool, because we met three of our buddies from the NUS School of Business. They are local students and showed us around. We first went to the Holland Village.... Not there is actually no obvious relationship to the Netherlands... nobody could tell us why it was called this way. Well I just googled it here. The food there is really cheap and I ate "Fish Porridge".... I know this may sound really weird, but it actually tasted quite good. It can be best described as a rice soup with lots of fish in it.
On Tuesday we visited the Singapore flyer which belongs to the worlds greatest Ferries wheels. Its restaurants are slightly more expensive than others but in return I got a yummy dish... mixed meat with noodles. It was my first time eating noodles with chopsticks... works as well but if you have got a red sauce with it you should make sure that you are eating it properly or are not wearing a plain grey shirt. Nevertheless we had a nice dinner. When we later walked through the city we could already see the set up for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. The best thing was, that every area was freely accessible. Therefore we went through the Pit lane and crossed the finish line.
Today we visited the first Island which is also Singapore's most famous one: Sentosa Island. There is a big themepark on it as well as the Universal Studios, an Aquarium and many beaches. We focused on the beaches today. Everything was very clean and the water was very warm. In total the perfect combination. They even build an small artificial Island which you can reaching by swimming or walking over a nice little bridge. We spent the whole day there and did not get bored. Later also some people of Vanessa's university joined us to relax. So tonight everyone is really tired from staying outside the entire day. Nevertheless we are going to meet up soon to chill at one of our Lounges here....
